About AV
AV was founded by a husband and wife team in …. Born in the same year and both professionally trained at the prestigious Russian State Cinematographic University (VGIK) to work in the field of cinematic, television and theatrical production, Pham Hoang Nam and Le Phi Nga set up the company with the aim of providing themselves with an ideal commercial setting in which they could apply the knowledge and skills that they gained through their academic training to create unique products that eloquently express their deep love for art and design.
Sharing almost identical backgrounds and absolute agreement on their end objectives, nevertheless the couple chooses different means to follow their inspiration and realize their vision and consequently, AV Ltd now has two seemingly unconnected divisions:
- Division A (known under the trade name of “Chip”) is headed by Le Phi Nga and focuses on the design, production and retailing of toys, costumes, furniture and soft decorative products for children. Chip is exclusive distributor in Viet Nam of HABA & PLANTOY, two of famous brands of Kid's toys over the world.
- Division B, led by Pham Hoang Nam, concentrates on offering professional film and stage production services.
About Chip
Since 1998, even before the establishment of AV, the products designed and made by Le Phi Nga had already been known under the registered trademark of “Chip”.
These products tend to have the following characteristics:
- Designed from the perspective of children under 10 years, the products tend to be in prime colours with simple forms and lines and are mainly two-dimensional.
- Designs are frequently changed or updated.
- Essentially hand-made
- Extreme concerns for health and safety: exclusion of allergenic materials, specially treated stuffing materials suited for infants, very limited use of designs with nails, knots, plastic beads…
- Extra care to use environmentally friendly materials such as specially treated recycled materials: discarded lace, wasted cotton…
“Chip” products offer a means of relaxation to their designer as well as the customers. The “Chip” store is a place for like-minded parents to meet one another, it is a casual and enjoyable way for the owner to share her philosophy of life and the customers to find camaraderie and empathy. To young children, “Chip” toys are fun-filled vehicles with which to discover themselves and the world around them. Our young customers, we hope, will be “growing up with Chip” and we hope that means they will be “growing up happy”……
